Our Favorite Chicago Farmers Markets to Visit This Fall

0

Summer may be coming to an end, but there’s still time to enjoy fresh produce and local products at Chicago farmers markets through September and October! So grab your tote bag, a light jacket, and your best walking shoes, because we are sharing our top 3 Chicago farmers markets in our favorite neighborhoods we are shopping this fall.

Logan Square Farmers Market

We may be biased towards the Logan Square Farmers Market because it’s in our main office’s backyard, but whether you are a Logan Square resident or not, we can all agree that this market takes the cake. Located on Kedzie Ave between the historic tree-lined Boulevard and Fullerton Ave, you can enjoy this award-winning market every Sunday through October 27th 8:30am-3pm. What was it Chappell Roan famously said at Coachella? “I’m your artist’s favorite artist?” Well, this is your favorite farmers market vendor’s favorite farmers market.

Green City Farmers Market

Nourishing Chicago since 1999, Green City Farmers Market had humble beginnings with only 9 farmers selling produce, but has now grown to one of the largest farmers markets in Chicago with 3 locations, 57 curated vendors, and over 350,000 weekly shoppers. The primary Green City farmers market can be found at the south end of Lincoln Park, with secondary locations in the West Loop and now Avondale. Shop this popular farmers market Sundays from 7am-1pm all the way through November, and Wednesdays from 7am-1pm through October.

Maxwell Street Market

The iconic Maxwell Street Market was established in the early 1900s, and has been a Chicago staple for over a century. Though location has moved over time, Maxwell Street Market returned to its original home near the UIC campus for the 2024 season. This vibrant market features fresh food, handmade crafts, clothing, furniture and more. You only have two more opportunities this year, so make your way to Maxwell Street Market on Sunday, September 29th and Sunday, October 27th to experience the best bargain hunting in the city.
