Landlord rights groups are objecting to the constitutionality of the CDC’s moratorium on evictions. With evictions banned, an already tenant-favoring landlord-tenant law, and tenant lock-outs illegal in Chicago, landlords are left with few options to maintain their obligations under property ownership.
