Two of these music bars (The Rose Bar and The Jade Bar) in the Gramercy Park Hotel are filled with custom designed furniture and articles of well-known artists which include; Andy Warhol, Keith Harding, Richard Prince and Julian Schnabel. Also, these clubs in NYC serve extraordinary cocktails and appetizers of varied types. The music is provided by playlists from New York, Montreal, London, Los Angles, Paris and Rome. Many jazz music lovers consider the Blue Note "the jazz capitol of the world." In the past Dizzy Gillespie entertained there. It now features varied entertainers like; Chris Botti, Count Basie Orchestra and Boz Scaggs. If you are able to get a table on the balcony, you will be lucky because of the crowds. You can go to the bar in the basement which does not get crowded until after the show. Arlene's Grocery is a converted convenience store that is reserved on Monday nights for Karaoke with a live band. The other six nights of the week local bands appear. Two other popular music clubs in the Midtown West are: B.B. King Blues and Grill and Connolly's Pub and Restaurant. B. B. King Blues Club has many different types of musicians including Harlem Gospel Choir, P-Funk All-Stars and George Clinton. Rock legends like Chuck Berry, Little Richard and owner B. B. King and his guitar, Lucille entertain here also Connolly's Pub and Restaurant is similar to Cheers in Boston. The extremely famous Irish rock group, Black 47 appears often on Saturday night.
